Urban development - Our strategy for thriving cities
Urban development with a holistic responsibility
We are a long-term owner and take clear responsibility for the places we develop. By developing, owning and managing large, coherent areas, we can take a holistic approach, where different functions interact and strengthen the long-term attractiveness of a place. This creates the conditions for sustainable urban environments that work over time, socially, economically and environmentally.
Proximity, mixed use and accessibility are central to our approach. In dense, mixed-use urban environments, conditions are created for shorter distances, well-functioning public transport and vibrant city life throughout the day.
The power of ten, how we create vibrant places
Around 85 per cent of Sweden’s population lives in urban areas, and urbanisation will continue over the long term. For Atrium Ljungberg, this means a responsibility to develop places that are attractive, sustainable and relevant over time.
In our urban development, we apply the concept of The power of ten. This means that there should be at least ten reasons to visit and spend time in a place, such as work, retail, culture, services, meetings and recreation. By creating multifunctional environments with complementary content, we contribute to vibrant places that work in everyday life and over time.
Long-term perspective as a foundation for value creation
Our urban development is carried out step by step and in close interaction with the management of our existing properties. This makes it possible to adapt development to changing needs and market conditions, while building on existing values.
Through long-term ownership and structured development, we create urban environments with stable attractiveness and strong potential for value growth over time.
